Ryan Willett is the director for data science in the data mining and analytics group, where he works on ETL, data analysis, modeling, and verifies data integrity and accuracy. Ryan specializes in scientific communication, analysis, hypothesis testing, scientific domain knowledge and data science. He has nearly two decades of experience in the data science, medical communications, and life sciences research fields and has worked at several leading agencies, universities, and medical research centers.

His analytics experience is derived from work on a variety of topics including air quality analysis, social media network analysis, satellite launch schedule and end-of-life profiling, and genomics. Before transitioning from biological research to data science, Ryan worked as a medical writer at a medical communications agency, specializing in data visualization and manuscript preparation for pharmaceutical clients. His academic research focused on neurobiology and molecular genetics, about which he has published several peer-reviewed papers and a textbook chapter.

Ryan holds a PhD in Pharmacology from Columbia University, a BS in both Biology and Biochemistry from Brandeis University.
