Michael McLeod is based in Gryphon’s London office, where he specializes in political risk and pre-transactional intelligence. Much of his corporate intelligence career has focused on investigations involving international sanctions and regulatory risk in the Middle East, particularly unraveling sanction evasion schemes relating to Iran, Syria and Libya. His work has taken him across the Middle East, including living and working in Iran, and supporting litigation throughout the region.
Michael has been called to the bar in England and Wales. He began his career at NGOs working in maritime, human rights, and international law. He subsequently moved to a market-leading corporate intelligence firm in London, and spent time working as an independent consultant specializing in strategic intelligence before joining Gryphon.
Michael speaks French and Farsi. He has an MA in Law from Cambridge University and a MSc in Iranian Studies from the London School of Oriental and African Studies (“SOAS”).
