A hedge fund engaged Gryphon to help identify commercial real estate investment opportunities in New York City.
Investigation
Using real estate records, mortgage information, liens, court filings, and information about the owners and principals of properties, Gryphon created an easy-to-use tool for the client to find properties of interest. Gryphon compiled data from over 20 public datasets and also built automated processes into the tool capable of updating it as new data became available. Combining these datasets required careful entity resolution in order to trace entities such as buildings and individuals across datasets while working closely with the client to identify the information most relevant to their investment needs.
Result
As a result of our investigation, the client was able to successfully launch and close an investment fund that raised hundreds of millions of dollars.
